Tonight, New Year's Eve, I'll be working at the family restaurant as a table bussing girl. I hope to God that no one from high school happens to walk in and recognize me. Otherwise I'll have to explain that my fairly expensive education has lead me to bussing tables and standing out on Central to turn a trick on the eve of a new year. Actually, as cool as I like to think I am, I don't think I've ever gone out and celebrated New Year's in the traditionally accepted fashion (booze and a kiss at midnight). I always work at the restaurant, attempting to not embarress myself, and then I come home and eat bean dip with the family. This is almost as traumatic as the many times in high school when I would be outside cleaning horse poop with an apple picker slung over shoulder and driving a giant orange tractor as the hottest, most beautiful boy drove by on the road. He'd wave and I'd jump off the tractor and try to hide as the tractor crashed into a gate and I was left standing naked in my cowgirl rancher-ness. I hope he's happy with his "wife" because I am so much cooler...well, obviously not. But I'm sure my inanities are much more amusing.
Anyways, I volunteered to work once again b/c my wanker brothers refused to do anything but stay at home. One brother has taken to raves, glowsticking, dropping ex and shrooms, and naming his bongs. He named one, "Bake-o the Dragon" (b/c it's in the shape of a dragon) and the other is named, "Cash-ius Clay" (b/c, you guessed it, it turns certain subtances into cash). The other brother just sits around the house smoking out of said brother's bongs.
Yes, it is time to go back to SF.
