When Deal or No Deal first came out, I was kind of amused by it. But now when I absentmindly watch while eating sweet potato fries, I feel like it glorifies the debilitating urges that drive compulsive gambling. Some people walk away so crushed because they were honestly led to believe that they were going to win life-changing sums of money. I can't condone the popularity of this show anymore. Not to mention that it has been used as a filler while hard working writers, actors, directors, and production crews have been out of work during the writers strike, and the rest of country is forced to watch this drivel.
One particular contestant that is "playing" as I write just said, "I always play to win. I am a WINNER. I never lose."
Pompous much? Asking to be smote by GOD much?
Obviously you've lost the fight against shamless histrionics, fashion, and a flubberous double neck. You work in a hospital for children with terminal illnesses? Am I supposed to be impressed? Maybe you are too much of a loser to hang out with anyone but dying children...and let's just say that dying children aren't picky. And that is why you are on this show, honestly believing that it is going to change your life, making some lofty producers tens of thousands of dollars, because you are an idiot.
Chances are that this contestant, even with thirteen $1 Million Dollar cases to play with, is still going to lose and walk away with $14 dollars less than what she arrived with.
*deep breathe*
Aaaaand I'm done.
